History and tradition
Miramar Golf Club is a 9-hole golf course and one of the oldest and most traditional golf courses in Portugal. Situated in the north of Portugal, on the seaside, Miramar golf course runs alongside the beaches between Espinho and OPorto.
Along the Atlantic Ocean
The historic Miramar golf course was recently altered under the supervision of Howard Swan, who redesigned the original 1934 layout produced by Mackenzie Ross. Miramar golf course is accompanied by the typical ocean views of Portugal's northern coastline. Some of the tees of Miramar are situated on the top of sand dunes. The refurbishment works have mainly been introduced at holes number 3 and 8, making the Miramar golf course 100 metres longer.
Some usefull tips
Pay special attention to hole number 2 of Miramar golf course, near Oporto, a 204 metre Par 3 with a split-level green. Look out to for hole number 9, an extremely difficult Par 4 which has an out-of-bounds area running along the right hand side of the fairway, as well as a difficult forest to the left. To make this hole even more challenging, the green is very well protected by two bunkers.
