GOLDEN EAGLE GOLF
One of the longest championship courses Located by Rio Maior, about 50 minutes North of Lisbon, the Golden Eagle Golf Course is a very fascinating and competitive golf course. Framed within a natural landscape environment, where trees almost touch the limits of the fairways, Golden Eagle Golf Course forces players to go around eight lakes and 87 bunkers of uncommon size. Water and bunkers are omnipresent From the North American architect Rocky Roquemore, the Golden Eagle Golf Course presents a typical modern north-American school design focused on target golf. The diversity of holes, the uncommon dimensions of the bunkers and the landscape framing are some of the qualities that make Golden Eagle Golf Course one of the best lay outs in Portugal. Nowadays one of the longest courses in Portugal, the Golden Eagle provides a stimulating challenge to demanding golfers, which enjoy seeing their efforts being rewarded. Golden Eagle Golf Course however, continues to be fun and challenging for players of all handicaps and abilities affording wide fairways, which will not overly punish those with a tendency to push or slice. The Signature Holes Hole 7, Par 4, requires a straight drive down the centre of the fairway, stray to far and you will have to play for the green from the bunker positioned on the dogleg. You will have as well to avoid the several large pine trees along the way. These characteristics make this hole one of the most emblematic of the Golden Eagle golf course commonly referred to as the “little pines hole”. Hole 8, Par 5, is the longest hole of Golden Eagle Golf Course. To increase the difficulty, a water hazard easily within reach with second shot and an enormous green protected by bunkers on every corner will leave you well pleased were to play the hole in par. In Hole 11, Par 4, large water hazard and a well protected slightly elevated green create the challenge. Download the scorecard of Golden Eagle Golf Course, Portugal Points of Interest:
